On January 17, the California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) presented Lystek International Ltd. with a Governor’s Environmental and Economic Award (GEELA) at a special award ceremony held at EPA’s headquarters in Sacramento, California.
The award recognized Lystek’s market-leading technical solutions, customer satisfaction, and numerous achievements in the sustainable management of biosolids and organics. Located at the Fairfield-Suisun Sewer District (FSSD) in California, the Lystek Fairfield Organic Material Recovery Center facility was selected as a leading example in the GEELA category of Sustainable Practices, Communities, or Facilities.
Each year, the competition is open to all California residents, businesses, non-profit organizations, professional and trade associations, communities, state and local government entities, tribes, and federal agencies operating in California.
The Cambridge, Ontario company has become known for executing unique, practical partnerships with significant and measurable benefits for the communities it serves. The facility opened with 14,000 tons of volume per year from the FSSD and now provides services to numerous Bay Area agencies, including the cities of San Francisco, Santa Rosa, Petaluma and many others.
