Created under Ontario’s Water Opportunities Act in 2010, the Water Technology Acceleration Project (WaterTAP) is a non-profit organization that brings private-sector experience and guidance to accelerate the growth and prosperity of Ontario’s water sector and champions the sector’s success stories globally.
WaterTAP works closely with emerging and established water technology companies to build better businesses. A growing number of companies are benefiting from WaterTAP’s Direct Assistance program that provides access to world-class market development expertise.
In addition to delivering a successful business growth accelerator program, WaterTAP connects companies to capital, customer, and partner opportunities through its expanding global network.
WaterTAP also has a mandate to provide advice to government on how best to support and develop this critical sector for the province’s economy. Through its Better Best Practices Initiative, WaterTAP is undertaking a series of collaborative projects that seek to continuously improve water management and leadership in Ontario by addressing challenges that can represent barriers to the adoption of innovative water technologies by end users.
WaterTAP’s brand promise is: Water technology thrives here. To fulfill this pledge, WaterTAP is here to serve Ontario’s water business – and promote the business of water – to ensure a better world for the next generation.
