Jon Grant holds a B.B.A. in Finance and International Business with a minor in Philosophy from the University of Cincinnati. He earned an M.Sc. in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics, where he focused on the environment and water.
Jon also holds an LLM in Water Governance and Conflict Resolution, a joint degree between the UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education in Delft, Netherlands and the IHP-HELP Centre for Water Law, Policy and Science (under the auspices of UNESCO) in Dundee, Scotland. His graduate research focused on understanding and negotiating equitable sharing of the economic benefits from improved water situations in transboundary rivers.
Jon’s past work includes new product forecasting and analysis at BASES, a service of Nielsen, market analysis and development for a start-up health care company, and advising an early-stage water analytics company.
In his role at WaterTAP, Jon leads a team focused on understanding actors, stakeholders, and needs in Ontario’s water sector to inform how we connect technologies to end-user needs and build programs that strengthen the province’s innovation ecosystem. He also works closely with the US EPA’s Water Cluster Initiative.
Jon enjoys travel, hiking, and rugby. In his spare time he is the head coach for the Balmy Beach Rugby Club’s Senior Women’s team and the Central Ontario U18 Women’s team. He’s also a director of the LSE Toronto Alumni Chapter Board, a member of Ontario Water Works Association and Water Environment Association of Ontario committees, and was formerly the technical director of Toronto Rugby.Return to Team
