The Leaders Innovation Forum for Technology (LIFT) is a multi-pronged initiative of The Water Research Foundation (WRF) and Water Environment Federation (WEF) to help bring new water technology to the field quickly and efficiently.

Overall, LIFT includes the following components:

  • Technology Evaluation– Identifies, screens, evaluates, and demonstrates new technologies.
  • People and Policy– Informs policy to remove barriers and facilitate technology adoption.
  • Communication– Training, education, and outreach related to new technologies.
  • Utility Peer Innovation Network– Provides a mechanism for utility technology and R&D managers to share experiences and collaborate on innovation.

In November 2017, WaterTAP and LIFT signed a partnership agreement to formally acknowledge the natural synergies between the two organizations, strengthen their relationship, and promise that they will work together to leverage resources to advance water innovation, including collaborating on identifying new technologies, facilitating pilots and demonstrations, and sharing information and data on technology performance.
