It brings private sector knowhow to the ecosystem connecting entrepreneurs, utilities and investors, helping them find the resources they need to grow, thrive and ultimately meet the growing global demand for clean water solutions.
With water spending expected to reach $1 trillion a year by 2020, there is a real opportunity for Canada to build on its strengths in the sector and become a leading water solutions country. WaterTAP intends to be at the nexus of this opportunity; to be a national organization connecting Canadian water technology companies to resources that accelerate their commercialization, market adoption, and growth, making Canada one of the top three innovation hubs for water technology globally.
With the focus of the CEO on executing on the expansion strategy, there is a need to recruit a COO to be the key enabler of the efficient and effective running of the organization and alleviate the CEO of day-to-day operating concerns. The COO will provide balance in executive leadership; leading and managing internal operations; providing direction, leadership and assistance to the team; ensuring that an active and engaged Board of Directors receives timely reports and financial information; and ultimately, ensuring that the organization delivers on program design, delivery and client engagement.
Requirements & Application
This is a highly demanding leadership role, requiring proven business acumen and extensive experience in building and leading teams and experience working with C-level executives; executing operational plans and monitoring organizational performance; and working with an independent Board of Directors.
Additional requirements: A minimum of 5 years of experience commercializing new technologies or bringing new products to market, ideally in the clean technology sector; financing of early stage companies and/or in export market development would be an asset; relevant education or experience; excellent written and oral communication skills in English; superb planning, organizational and project management skills; and, a high level of personal accountability.
