In case you missed it, the summer months have brought some good news with regard to funding that applies to innovative water technology companies. Both the provincial and federal governments have announced new opportunities that offer support for company growth, reducing municipal GHGs, and demonstrating clean technology.
- Government of Ontario: Municipal GHG Challenge Fund: Support for municipalities to undertake projects that aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in any sector, including buildings, energy supply, water, transportation, waste, and organics. This funding opportunity features a Very Small Municipalities Stream for municipalities with populations less than 10,000.
- Government of Canada: Strategic Innovation Fund: Supports Canadian companies along four activity streams:
- Ontario Ministry of Research, Innovation and Science: Low Carbon Innovation Fund: Support for Ontario researchers, entrepreneurs, and companies to create and commercialize new, globally competitive, low-carbon technologies that will help Ontario meet its greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets.
